Yesterday, Today, and Everyday

Know that each day is a opportunity to start fresh. You have it in you to determine what kind of day you want to have. If bad things are happening it doesn't mean the outcome of your day should be bad. You can choose to find the blessings in the storms and call it a blessed day. Don't give up because the suns always shining.

I Am Disappointed

I serve on student senate and tonight at 6pm in the SSB building we are showing a documentary called "A Film Unfinished." This is a film about an unfinished film which portrays the people behind and before the camera in the Warsaw Ghetto, exposing the extent of the cinematic manipulation forever changing the way we look at historic images (imbd.com).

As a member of the student senate, I had the idea to invite a World War II veteran to the event to speak before the show or sit on the panel with the other speakers. Well, it ended up my idea didn't play out, because the panel said it would take too much time and nobody would want to stay until the end. All we were going to give this veteran was 20 minutes for the opportunity to share his experiences on a panel. This is somebody who sacrificed and watched people die, who knew what the Nazis were doing, and also knew the price of freedom that needed to be paid in order for us to have this opportunity.

So this is what disappoints me. It's a sad day in America when we no longer have time or want to make time for those that paid the price for our liberty. WWII veterans are dying at a rate of 900 a day across the nation. All those still surviving are beyond the life expectancy of an American man. Men who gave up their freedom so we can have ours, yet we bury these pages of history everyday without thought or thankfulness.

Under Pressure

Sorry I have not been blogging lately, I know it may seem like its a habit but I would like to tell you what is going on right now in my life. This month I am under a lot of pressure, in 21 days I will have the opportunity to sit in a room with a man I have not been in the same room with in 19 years. This hardship has distracted me and is making me feel like I need to disconnect myself and fully rely on God for guidance, wisdom and his knowledge for this situation. Advice will be great! What do you say to the man who tried to kill you? what do you say to keep him locked away so you can sleep silently at night and not awake from another nightmare? God is my shelter and cradle.

Life.... I rejoice

This semester in college has been a bit rougher than last semester, and I am not the kind who talks about the hard bargains I am currently in, but these things have been on my mind and I would love to hear people's advice. When I hear the word LIFE, it reminds me that it is only simple when it's a box of cereal.

After Christmas break my girlfriend left to start another semester down at Missouri State, this time I thought it was going to be the same but the distance grows pain sometimes and now when she visits saying goodbye is harder than ever. I truly love her for who she is and what she wants to do and why she is where she is. She is truly beautiful and in this I rejoice.

After she left my best friend who I chilled with ever day since sophomore year left for college also and I am really proud of what he is doing for God and the heart he has to want to witness to people beyond his culture. In this I rejoice.

Weeks after I started school myself I had to pick up a role in my hose and play Mr. Mom because my mother had surgery on her arm and its been moving our family a little behind but we survive and she heals by the grace of God. In this I rejoice.

This semester I have also been juggling Hope Is Vital and school around so much I feel like I have failed in one or the other but it's in the hands of God carrying me to safety. In this I rejoice.

In these course of events I'm not saying they're all bad times; the more I think about it and rejoice there are more good times, we just tend to let our bad days get to us the most.
